Sur une petite colline surplombant la mer, un ensemble de 8 maisons THAI serrees les unes contre les autres entourent une piscine. Un accueil, une gentillesse, une gaitee, des sourires, un service, tout pour faire croire que nous ne sommes plus de ce monde : nous sommes au paradis. Calme, soleil, nourriture, des iles : LE PASSE TEMPS. Un seul regret, il faut partir un jour, mais face a nous l'arbre du voyageur est la pour nous inciter a revenir. De retour en hiver apres cette parenthese enchantee, je tiens a te remercier pour le merveilleux accueil que tu as reserve a toute la smala (3 mamans et 3 kids !)pour tes qualites d'hote exceptionnelles, pour la competence de ton staff, pour l'incroyable quietude qui regne chez toi, pour la simplicite avec laquelle tu fais du sejour de chacun un pur moment de bonheur... que dire ? Un petit bijou d’endroit, d’accueil, d’attention et d’organisation qu’on voudrait presque ne pas vanter pour mieux le garder pour soi et qu’il reste intact ! Noctambules en mal de foule en delire, backpackers ou amateur d’hotellerie classique avec des etoiles, ne venez pas vous y perdre : vous perdriez votre temps. Car ici, au " Passe-Temps ", on trouve une plage pour soi seul qui prend un aspect breton a maree basse mais de baie d’Along a maree haute, une piscine qui n’est pas olympique mais un delice pour bains de minuit (et toute la journee), des bungalows personnalises tres confortables (air conditionne, douche dans un joli bac en bois, tres bonne literie), de grandes tables posees a meme la plage devant le restaurant o๙ le menu tha๏ est excellent, des poufs sur le sable, et un espace massage perche sur la colline ou les professionnel(le)s ne sont pas ambigus mais expert(e)s. Olivier et Kiet vous organisent en un clin d’oeil randonnees en bateau dans les iles qui vous narguent a l’horizon, y compris James Bond Island ou Ko Phi Phi, pour ceux qui ne veulent rien rater, avec un marin qui s’y connait et vous fait visiter les plages a rebours, si vous le souhaitez, pour eviter la foule. Champ de coraux et poissons a gogo valent bien des sites plus frequentes. Visite de temple, de marche, promenade en elephant ou canoe dans les canyons bordes de mangrove completent le tableau. Point d’orgue : l’ame de lieu, insufflee par Olivier et Kiet car ils vous accueillent chez eux, et l’on se sent comme chez soi. Quant aux autres convives, libre a chacun de se frequenter a sa guise et comme il l’entend, ou de ne se croiser qu’en toute tranquillite. Pour ceux qui dinent sur la plage dans la lumiere tapissee par les arbres, la grande table est chaleureuse et cosmopolite. Un bungalow ouvert et a l’ecart accueillera les solitaires ou un groupe autonome. Pour avoir teste un des 5 etoiles du coin sur la magnifique plage d’Ao Nang, qui vaut les offres de Phuket en moins achalande, je confirme que le passe-temps est une question de choix et que ce choix ne fait pas un pli. On veut y revenir, l’hiver comme au printemps et meme l’ete avant septembre, car le soleil, l’eau, l’accueil et l’ambiance n’y sont pas les memes que sur les plages plus proches de la vieille Europe. Bref, allez-y mais ne le dites a personne. Les trouvailles se degustent et ne se partagent qu’avec ceux qui les estiment.

What a wonderful place to stay!!! Peaceful, private beach and excellent thai cuisine by thai good cooks! Great host Olivier help you organise your trips to nearby islands where you can snorkle to see beautiful corals & couloured fish, do kayaking or visit a Budhist Temple on the top of a mountain to enjoy the sunset! Just the perfect holidays! :-)

Tout me manque...ces sentiments de liberté et de sérénité,la beauté et le charme indescriptibles de ce lieu, les visites de cette belle région, les succulents plats servis chaque jour... mais également les fabuleux cocktails, les massages quotidiens,les histoires fabuleuses de sylvie,l'humour et les morceaux de guitare de manu ,le beau regard maternel de christiane,le naturel et le sourire d'émilie, la gentillesse du personnel, toutes les autres belles rencontres et encore tant de choses... mais bien sûr, tout cela n'aurait pas été la même chose sans olivier et kiet...vous êtes juste incroyables et je vous remercie d' avoir fait de mes vacances un moment si privilégié...je reviens dès que possible et en attendant je vous embrasse très fort..all my love!!!

Voici un coucou depuis la France où nous avons du mal à nous remettre des émotions Thaïlandaises… Il n’y a pas une journée sans qu’une image de ce pays magnifique et en particulier une image de cet endroit magique : le Passe Temps…nous vienne. Sans oublier ce diner à Bangkok avec Kiet et Olivier ou cette journée avec Jeannot à Railey ou encore l’un de ces apéritifs avec Kirsten et Laurence dans le lobby. Bref ! choc thermique à notre retour : tempête de neige sur Paris avec 30° de moins et programme de travail « garantie perte de bronzage » dès la lecture du planning… Kiet et Olivier : Ne changez rien à la philosophie de votre maison d’hôte, laissez les clients vaquer à leurs rêves et leurs songes… Comment va le pauvre et le « tout fou Robert »? Nous avons appris par Christian que vous nous aviez envoyé du thé , c’est super sympa nous le boirons le matin comme au passe temps…

Dear Olivier and Kiet I just wanted to send a brief email of thanks for your wonderful hospitality last week. I could gush on for ages about how much I loved my time there and how generous all your family was in involving me in their holiday. Christiane, Manuel and Emily were so kind and fun, Sylvie is so warm and caring and of course yourself and Kiet were perfect hosts. Un moment de grâce dû à la vision, au talent et à la chaleur de ses créateurs. La tranquillité sans ennui, la découverte sans pression, le confort sans obséquiosité, la gourmandise sans effort, l’horizon sans isolement,le partage sans obligation. La magie à l’état pur.

We booked a 3 night stay here, Olivier had an opening so we stayed another day, then another and another. The place has a spell on it, and a secluded charm which is becoming harder to find. Olivier and Kiet are hosts from a forgotten time artfully blending French and Thai cultures. We let the world melt off of us and soaked in the beauty of the place. After a couple days the tables in the dining area merged into one and we all ate and laughed together. One night the power went out in the evening and the staff brought candles and carried on with dinner without missing a beat. We dined under the stars. It was almost disappointing when the lights returned to remind us of the pace of things beyond the cushion of jungle. Its been a year since we left and we can't wait to get back.

Best place we stayed ! After reviewing lots of places on Tripadvisor, I booked Le Passe-Temps for our first 4 nights. We arrived from Switzerland after a few hours in Bangkok waiting for our connecting flight and Olivier had organised his taxi man to collect us from the airport. It was so easy and we actually used the same guy for various transports during our holiday. Olivier and Kiet are fantastic, so friendly and easy to get along with. This place out of all the places we stayed exceeded my expectations, it was clean, comfortable, great food, and easy to get to Krabi if you want something to do. Trips can be organized and it's not too expensive as we found with other places. It was secluded and had a real relaxed feel to it. The staff here were great - it seems like a small happy family!! We had a great time here and really benefited from Olivier and Kiet's advice, information and insight into Thailand. The Thai market for breakfast in Krabi was one of our highlights - amazing to see all the colours and all the different fish, meat, veg etc. Highly recommended. The weather wasn't great when we were there but it was Monsoon season, quite a lot of rain and cloud. All in all I give this place 10 out of 10 and would love to go back. We ended our holiday in Bangkok and thanks to Olivier, Kiet and Ann Marie had a fantastic time (Banyan Tree roof top bar!!) They gave us advice on where to go which was helpful. Thanks for making our stay so memorable.

S'il y a un paradis sur terre, ce doit être ici ... Le lieu, l'aménagement,l'accueil sont superbes. Olivier doit être St pierre, délivrant les clefs, de la farniente à la découverte, tout ceci avec une convivialité inégalée, des repas de rêve. Je ne parle pas des soirées guitare et des rencontres sympa faites là bas. Un clin d'œil à Kiet qui courageusement rallie Bangkok au Passe-Temps tous les week-ends et nous apporte sa bonne humeur et contribue à faire du séjour un moment inoubliable. "C'est quand qu'on y retourne" demande la famille tous en chœur ???

Des petits chalets adorables en bois, perchés au-dessus d'une mer magnifique, et Olivier qui vous accueille comme des rois. Un petit tour en bateau, un massage au bord de la plage, quelques bons petits plats et le temps a déjà passé ... dommage !!

If you are looking for first-class, silver-service waiters, and bed-turn down - don't go here. If however, you are looking for a complete getaway from all of that, then this is definitely worth a go. Its a very hands-on place, you have to muck-in with Olivier and Kiet, fabulous. Olivier and Kiet made us feel totally at home and welcome in their patch of paradise. This place is the epitome of tranquility (even with the cicadas), partnered with a beautiful shore lines and stunning sunsets - its like stepping out of life into a painting. Thankfully, there is not much to do..... other than lazing in the sun, boating, kayaking, snorkelling, swimming, island hopping, exploring the countryside, meeting great people, eating great food and drinking fine French wines ... We cant wait to go back, Keep up the great work guys, Jason and David xx

Cet endroit est un petit coin paradisiaque. Moi j'y suis arrivée de nuit, donc il a fallu attendre jusqu'au lendemain avant de pouvoir profiter de la vue et quel spectacle, en voyant cela on prend tout de suite conscience que nous sommes en vacances et bien loin de Paris. Accueil très sympa, visites proposées très interressantes. Le plus dur dans cet endroit c'est de le quitter !

Besser gehts nicht! Le Passe-Temps ist einer der schönsten Orte der Welt! Die Bungalow- Anlage liegt an einem Privatstrand, so dass man ganz ungestört dort ist! Die schönen Holzbungalows sind sehr gut ausgestattet, haben Klimaanlage, grosse gemütliche Holzbetten mit Moskitonetzen und einem reizenden Bad mit einer Holzbadewanne. Aus den Fenstern hat man eine schöne Aussicht aufs Meer und auf den schönen Pool. Der Besitzer, ein Franzose, kümmert sich rührend um seine Gäste und kein Wunsch bleibt offen. Der Service ist einzigartig, die Zimmer sehr sauber und das Personal sehr hilfsbereit und freundlich. Das Restaurant der Anlage liegt am Strand, das Essen ist einfach umwerfend! Man kann wirklich alles bestellen, was das Herz begehrt. Das Frühstück ist genial mit echten Croissants, Baguettes und tollem Kaffee. Obwohl man hier wirklich seine Ruhe hat, kann man doch in kürzester Zeit in das Dorf kommen, wo man alle möglichen Dinge unternehmen kann, wie Bootstouren zu den Inseln, Kanufahrten durch die Canyons, Tauchtouren usw. Ich kann nur jedem, der schon immer einmal wissen wollte, wie es im Paradies ist, empfehlen, Le Passe-Temps zu besuchen, denn die Zeit dort wird unvergesslich schön!

Wonderful gay friendly secluded beach accommodation. My partner and I had a few days in Krabi. We stayed in this wonderful French owned, gay friendly beach resort. Traditional Thai wooden lodges, beautifully appointed with A/C, luxury bathroom, right on the beach - which is deserted and looks out over a beautiful sea islands. The owner, Olivier, was wonderful. We ate each night under the stars by the swimming pool, excellent Thai food with a distinct French influence. Fabulous breakfast including coffee, bread, croissants - could have been in Nice. Trips out were excellent, including a very reasonable day out in their own boat, going round islands and beaches, swimming, snorkeling. Truly fabulous. I thoroughly recommend for a chilled out break.

beautiful and serene My girlfriend and I stayed in this wonderful place for the first four days of our three week holiday. The hotel is in the middle of nowhere with fabulous views of the bay and nearby islands. The owner, Olivier, arranged for a local taxi to pick us from the airport and deliver us straight to the door. The bungalows were fabulous, all traditional and made of wood, with air conditioning and mosquito nets for those nights when you want to sleep with windows open. All the bungalows have views of the pool or the beach, or both as ours did. The restaurant on the beach was lovely and the food fantastic. Olivier took us for breakfast at the local market which was an experience that we would recommend. The resort has its own boat and will provide a picnic for a whole day out visiting islands and neighbouring beaches. Olivier and his mother were excellent hosts and we would recommend this resort to anybody wanting to escape from the world for a relaxing and restful break. Ali

Just to say Le Passe-Temps lodge is a wonderful, relaxing place - deserted beaches, boat trips snorkeling - great relaxing time. Don't go if you want bars and clubs - but do go if you want peace, tranquility and great hospitality.

Run by a French/Vietnamese couple, this is a superb place for a romantic getaway - beautifully decorated bungalows just above a beach with some of the best sunsets you can imagine; home cooked food which you can eat outdoors with the hosts and other guests (or alone if you prefer) and their own long tail boat to take you on trips round the bay. I've just been on a round the world trip and for the price this was the best value anywhere. Situated about 30 minutes drive from Krabi town, my stay here was a wonderful experience and one I will never forget. Le Passe Temps is a very private and beautiful place situated right on the bay of Ao Phang Nga. From the moment I arrived until I left I was made to feel exceptionally welcome. I travelled on "Le Passe Temps" boat to visit the most stunning tropical islands, the cook made delicious food and I chatted at lunch and dinner with the hosts. Wonderful chilled out place. Deserted beach front, traditional but luxurious Thai style wooden houses, fabulous french influenced food, days out alone in their own boat - remote beaches, snorkelling. More like staying with friends than in an hotel. Trully relaxing and chilled out time. Will definitely return.
